Hello Music Patrons,

Welcome to the Brentwood Westwood Symphony Orchestra’s 59th season! Our beloved Maestro Alvin Mills will be presenting three spectacular concerts at our new venue, the University Synagogue on Sunset in Brentwood. He will be sharing the baton with our new Associate Conductor and Director, Diego Miralles, who will bring a wealth of talent and energy to our performances.

For our 2011-2012 season, we will be roaming through the musical history of the Americas. Beginning with the Northern Hemisphere, our opening concert will feature American composers Copland and Dvorak followed by our second concert showcasing the winners of our annual “Artists Of Tomorrow “ competition where young, promising musicians will show off their extraordinary talents. And finally, the season will conclude with a Latin American Extravaganza featuring exciting works of Villa Lobos and Piazzolla.

Although our aspiration is to continue presenting wonderful free concerts, our future is uncertain and we need your support now. On the eve of our 60th season, we ask that you please consider making your personal contribution so that we may prolong our quest. Your donations are vital to the longevity of our orchestra and with your help, we will be able to journey upon an unforgettable montage of sonic landscapes at a world class level in an exciting new venue.

Misson Statement

The Brentwood Westwood Symphony Orchestra has a mission to serve and engage a diverse audience of all ages in nearby Los Angeles communities through the performance of powerful living music, creative educational programs, and strong community relationships. Through generous pledged support from loyal donors it offers free concerts to the public, competition and scholarships to young musicians, educational outreach to school children, and music performance opportunities for residents in the community.
